- Voted and approved of Chair: Michelle Evans, Co-Chair: Hilary Bair, Secretary: Angela Gibbons-motion passed.
- Proposed Meeting Schedule-Voted and approved-motion passed.
- Review of SCC training, and rules which were voted on and approved-motion passed.
- Reviewed School Budgets: Trustland, TSSA and Title 1. These are aligned with academic goals and plans for the school.
- Went over the Report Card for Summit. Right now we are ranked as a B grade but our scores in the spring of 2022 are comparable to the scores before COVID, so we are happy that we are going back up.
- Went over and approved the Title 1 plan. Review and vote on motion was passed.
- School parent compact: approved and voted on-motion passed.
- Family Engagement Strategy: approved and voted on-motion passed.
- PTA fall fundraiser, HERO run, went really well. Had a lot of good praise for how it went. They are now planning for the Night of Giving baskets that will happen in November.
- Round Table: Next meeting talking about playground equipment, and history nook at Summit.

- Budgets are doing well.
- School Safety: Aimee is going to re-address with Smithfield City to possibly get crossing guards at 1st West 1st South, right now the city says there isn’t enough money in the budget. We are also going to try to get a new U-Turn sign on 1st West. Teachers will be reviewing pickup protocol with parents at PTC.
- HERO (Helpful Exceptional Responsible Optimistic) plan is working very well this year, keeping kids motivated to get yellow tickets when they are being a “HERO”. Teachers are encouraged to give 1 ticket per month to each student. Every 4 tickets earned, students get to sign their name on the letters in HERO, starting with the H.
- CVD Fundraiser brought in more this year than last-$8740.00
- Talking about moving the Historical nook into the library and front entrance by the office in order to utilize the space it is in now better.
- Looked at the playground to see what really needs to be replaced, will discuss again in Jan.
- Night of Giving-Dec 3rd. Donations need to be in by Nov. 28th so the PTA can put the baskets together that will be auctioned off at the event.

Minutes
- Budgets: Spending money down and will be spent by the end of the year.
- SNAP Plan (Safe Walking Route) was approved by the council. Summit (and all schools) route is posted on saferoutes.utah.gov
- SCC Voting (Spring): Keeping in mind who would be able to fill new positions for current members who will be leaving.
- Playground: Hoping to get a new playground by fall of 2024. Aimee will be sending a link of different types of playground equipment to members to look over.
- Digital Citizenship Update: Heidi Grange (our Library Specialist) uses commonsensemedia.org curriculum to go over internet safety and is focusing on this with her classes. There are also more books being published on digital safety in a fun graphic novel format for kids to read.
- Valentines Tea: This will be done just like in the past with individual classes going to the gym for a treat and a small presentation on manners. Will happen on Feb. 14th. A School Dance will be held on Feb. 13 (Me and My VIP). There will be a $3.00 charge per ticket, but there will also be free tickets to those students who want to come but can not afford the charge.

- Budgets: Reviewing technology needs and where to spend money to see what will be left over by the end of March.
- Trustlands: 2021-2022 Language Arts Goal was 80% proficiency and by the end of 2021-22 we were 78% proficient. 2021-22 Math Goal was also 80% proficient and by the end of 2021-22 we were 72% proficient.
- Trustlands: Currently (2022-23) our language proficiency is 76% and our Math is at 65%.
- Valentines Tea/VIP Dance sponsored by the PTA had great success, with many good compliments.
- March Math Madness will start on March 1 this year with an end of month assembly on March 31. There will be a class goal along with a grade level goal.

- Budgets will be greatly reduced by the end of April. Aimee did a technology inventory with the tech department to know what we need so that is where a lot of the money will be going.
- Trustlands 2023-2024 Language Art goal is to have an 80% Acadience Assessment composite score during the spring testing session. Planning on breaking it down by grade level. This goal will have 6 action steps found in the trustland report for this goal.
- Trustlands 2023-2024 Math goal will be 80% based on the EOY IReady diagnostic. This goal will have 4 action steps that can be found in the report.
- The Trustland 2023-2024 report is due on March 31, 2023. It will be reviewed by each community council member and then they will sign electronically.
- PTA discussed March Math Madness. They are keeping it pretty simple this year. There will be 2 MMM assemblies on March 31st. One for the older grades (4-6) and one for the younger grades (1-3).
- In April the meeting will discuss possible new community council members for the 2023-2024 school year.
